The Nash Room at the Lawrence Branch of the Mercer County Library System houses the Township's archival collection and is maintained by the Township Historian's Office. The archives are searchable, Lawrence Township Historical Artifacts Catalog, and can be viewed in person by making an appointment. You may either call 609-989-6922 or e-mail webmaster (at) thelhs (dot) org to schedule an appointment.

The Lawrence Collection in the Nash Room contains various media types that cover the township's history from it's first settlers to the present day. The collection includes newspaper articles, maps, photographs, videotapes, audio tapes, and manuscripts that cover all topics relating to life in Lawrence Township since the late 1600s. Highlights of the collection are the George Phillips Civil War-era diary, the Roscoe J. Howell papers, and a large arial map of the township that was taken in the 1940s.

The Nash Room is named after Winona D. Nash, a longtime Township Historian who was responsible for assembling the room and cataloging it's contents. Nash logged over 4000 hours preserving the items contained in the room during her 10 year term as Township Historian. The room was dedicated in her honor in 2002, shortly after her death.

Nash was preceded in her role by Robert Immordino, who was responsible for collecting the material in the first place. Immordino collected much of the material while serving as the Township's Tax Assessor and, in his spare time, as the main Lawrenciana history buff. He later returned for a second term as Township historian.

In addition to Nash and Immordino, Barbara Gladstone and Richard Graja have served as Township Historian. The post is currently held by Dennis Waters.
